A representative from the Dragon Red Guerrilla Force has confirmed that one military council soldier was killed during an attack on the police station in Myotha town, Nganzun Township, Mandalay Region. The attack began at approximately 5:30 AM on June 8, when revolutionary forces launched an offensive against the military position, which was staffed by approximately 50 personnel. The attacking forces employed heavy weapons, including five 60mm weapons and three 40mm weapons, along with small arms in their assault on the station.
The engagement lasted approximately thirty minutes, with artillery strikes hitting their intended targets within the police station compound with precision. After the initial attack on the station, the revolutionary forces also conducted operations to intercept potential military reinforcements. The resistance forces eventually withdrew due to intelligence suggesting incoming reinforcements from the Nganzun area and their own limited troop numbers. During the battle, one military council soldier was confirmed killed, and four others sustained severe injuries. The exact condition of the wounded soldiers remains unclear, according to the official statement.
The operation was a joint effort conducted by the Myingyan District Dragon Red Guerrilla People’s Defense Force, Nganzun Township People’s Defense Force, and the Sintgaing Revolution Force. Following the engagement, local residents have been warned to exercise extreme caution when traveling near areas where military council troops are present, as fighting could break out at any time with no guarantees for civilian safety. Additionally, travel restrictions have been implemented on the Mandalay-Myingyan road and the Nganzun-Myotha road, prohibiting civilian movement between 9 PM and 4 AM. These measures have been put in place to ensure civilian safety in the area where active conflict continues between revolutionary forces and the military council.
