Local residents reported that 4 civilians were killed in aerial bombardments by the terrorist military forces using aircraft and drones in Thilin and Saw Townships of Magway Region, where no active fighting was taking place. On the evening of June 5, a fighter jet from the Magway Air Force Base conducted an airstrike on Nyaungkan village in Saw Township, resulting in the death of 4 villagers and injuries to 5 others. This aerial attack directly targeted the village despite there being no ongoing battles in the area.
Additionally, around 1 PM on the same day, a fighter jet from the Magway Air Force Base conducted bombing raids on the southern part of Thilin Township. However, as the bombs did not directly hit any villages, there were no civilian casualties reported. According to a local resident, the bomb explosion in Nyaungkan village killed 4 civilians and wounded 5 others, though the full extent of property damage is yet to be determined.
During the previous month of May, the terrorist military forces conducted at least 26 aerial attacks across the Yaw region of Gangaw District in Magway Region. These attacks involved not only fighter jets but also Y12 transport aircraft dropping bombs. These bombardments resulted in the deaths of at least 5 innocent civilians and caused numerous injuries, while destroying more than 5 houses and a school, according to local sources. The military council has intensified its aerial attacks on civilian populations in the region as it continues to suffer military setbacks on the ground.
