A representative from the United States of Burma Army (USBA) has confirmed that a revolutionary fighter was killed during clashes with military council troops who entered Mindon Township in Magway Region. On May 20, approximately 80 military council soldiers from various units including KaPaSa 2, KaPaSa 10, and Lin Kyet Police Station entered the Lin Kyet sub-township area of Upper Minla Township, using drones and heavy weapons in their advance. Subsequently, on the morning of May 23, around 50 military council troops from KaPaSa 12 entered Htee Yoe village in Salay Township using vehicles, and proceeded to implement a two-pronged blockade of villages in the northeastern part of Mindon Township.
The military council forces forcibly seized food supplies from local civilians and consumed them. They then set up camp at a school in Kywe Chan village, where revolutionary forces launched two attacks during the night of May 23. On the evening of May 25, another clash occurred near Ywa Thaya village, resulting in the death of revolutionary fighter Hlaing Bwar Myint Myat. A USBA official explained that the casualty occurred due to insufficient ammunition supplies, which prevented the revolutionary forces from matching the military’s firepower during the brief engagement. The official called for support in the form of weapons and ammunition from those able to provide such assistance.
Meanwhile, the Natogyi Regional Defence Force (NRDF) Battalion 8 of Myingyan District announced that they had captured alive a police lance corporal from the Natogyi Town Police Station in Mandalay Region. The capture of Police Lance Corporal Min Mon Soe took place on May 28 within Natogyi town, in a joint operation between NRDF Battalion 8 and the Natogyi Township People’s Defense Force. The successful capture of the police officer has been confirmed by multiple sources within the resistance movement.
