
The terrorist military forces conducted an airstrike on Thapyay and Minsu villages in Mingin Township, Sagaing Region, killing 10 civilians including children aged between 5 and 11 years old, according to local residents. The aerial attack occurred around 2:45 PM on May 23rd without any ongoing battles in the area. The bombing directly targeted residential areas where civilians were living, resulting in a high number of casualties and injuries.
Among those killed were Hnin Yadana Win (age 5), Phon Khant Phyo (age 6), Htet Nay Kyaw and Phyo Min Khant (both age 7), Saung Thazin Nwe and Kyaw Phyo Aung (both age 8), Phyo Ei Zin (age 9), Shin Thant (age 11), Chit San Nwe (age 23), Hnin Ei San (age 27), Ma Yin Hla (age 35), Thein Lwin Oo (age 36), Pyu Sein (age 38), Bo Oo (age 39), Hnin Nu Aung (age 40), Zaw Min Oo (age 42), Zaw Lin (age 46), Maung Soe (age 48), and Daw Sein Kwe (age 74). Local sources indicate that the death toll could rise further as many of the wounded are in critical condition.
While medical treatment is being provided to the injured, there is a severe shortage of necessary medical supplies and equipment to treat those in critical condition. Despite the military council’s announcement of a ceasefire from May 6th to May 31st, revolutionary forces report that the military continues to conduct airstrikes, military operations, and arrests and killings of civilians across the country.
