A representative from the Thaung Tha Township People’s Movement Committee has confirmed that the terrorist military council conducted an aerial attack on a monastery in Yone Sin Lay village, Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in damage to the monastery building and residential houses. The incident occurred on May 22 at approximately 5:44 AM when five military helicopters dropped 14 bombs on Yone Sin Lay (also known as Shwe Si Gyi) village.
The aerial bombardment by the terrorist military forces caused significant damage to the monastery, with bombs directly hitting the religious building. According to the Thaung Tha Township People’s Movement Committee, the military helicopters, which departed from Meiktila Air Base, conducted the bombing raid on the village, though fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported in this particular incident.
The Thaung Tha Township People’s Movement Committee has urged local residents to take necessary precautions against aerial attacks by constructing proper bomb shelters near their homes and remaining vigilant when air raid warnings are issued. Local residents have emphasized the importance of taking extra precautions, noting that the terrorist military council frequently conducts aerial attacks on civilian areas, making it crucial for civilians to take measures to prevent casualties and losses. The committee continues to monitor the situation and provide guidance to local communities regarding safety measures against such military attacks.
