The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that the military council conducted an aerial attack on Shwe San Mining Company in Naung Cho Township, Shan State, dropping two 500-pound bombs. The attack occurred on May 11 at approximately 12:30 PM, resulting in extensive damage to company property including one dump truck, one mineral processing machine, one equipment storage warehouse, and numerous other pieces of equipment. The total damage is estimated at 168,000 Chinese Yuan worth of property and equipment.
Furthermore, on May 18 at around 5:30 PM, despite the absence of any active conflict, the military council forces carried out another aerial attack near Yadana Theingi village in Dor Pin village tract, Naung Cho Township, using fighter jets to drop six 250-pound bombs. Although the military council had declared a ceasefire period from May 6 to May 31, they have continued to conduct ground offensives, deliberately shell with heavy weapons, and carry out daily drone and aerial attacks in territories controlled by the Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA).
Due to these ongoing attacks by the military council forces, the PSLF/TNLA has issued warnings to local civilians to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against aerial attacks, drone strikes, and artillery fire. These military council attacks not only threaten the lives and property of civilians but also severely impact local businesses and economic activities in the region. The resistance forces emphasize that local residents must maintain constant vigilance for their safety, as the military council continues its offensive operations despite declaring a ceasefire period. The attacks demonstrate the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence against civilian targets and infrastructure, causing significant economic damage and creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the region.
