The Chinland Defense Force – Hakha has officially announced that two soldiers and one police officer who were stationed in Hakha, Chin State, have joined the people’s resistance movement along with their weapons. These security personnel made their decision to defect while serving in Hakha between May 15 and 17, reaching out to CDF-Hakha with the intention of opposing the military council and participating in the people’s revolution.
CDF-Hakha warmly welcomed these defectors who brought their weapons and ammunition, providing them with monetary rewards for their decision. The resistance group has also taken full responsibility for their security, relocating them to safe locations and providing necessary assistance. The organization has stated that they will continue to welcome any military or police personnel who wish to leave the military council’s control, guaranteeing their safety and security. This commitment includes comprehensive support and protection for those who choose to defect.
Additionally, CDF-Hakha reported that they successfully captured a soldier alive in Hakha on May 15. The increasing number of defections from military council forces to the people’s side is being interpreted by analysts as an indication of growing distrust in the military council and the increasing strength of the people’s revolution movement. These recent developments demonstrate the continuing erosion of the military council’s authority and the expanding influence of resistance forces in the region.
