
A representative from the Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force has confirmed that the military council forces conducted aerial attacks on fuel stations and villages in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region, for two consecutive days. The military council forces launched offensive operations using fighter jets from Tada-U Air Base on May 17 and 18.
The first aerial attack began at 7:58 AM on May 17, when a fighter jet that took off from Tada-U targeted the area in front of Pyae Wa Htun fuel station, inside the village, and Setkyi Field in Soekpin village of Sintguu Township. The jet conducted three separate bombing runs using 300-pound bombs. While the attack resulted in the destruction of two buildings, no civilian casualties were reported.
The second aerial attack occurred at 5:15 AM on May 18, when another fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base targeted the area between Thila village north of Sintguu town with 300-pound bombs. The Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force confirmed that there were no civilian casualties in this second attack as well.
Due to these aerial attacks by the military council that threaten the lives and property of local residents, the Pyin Oo Lwin District People’s Defense Force has specifically warned civilians to relocate away from areas where military council forces are present and to prepare bomb shelters for protection against aerial attacks. The organization emphasized the importance of these precautionary measures to ensure the safety of local residents in the face of ongoing military aggression.
