
The military council conducted aerial bombardments on Mindat Township in Chin State and Theetlin Township in Magway Region despite the absence of any ground battles. According to local revolutionary sources, on May 15 at 9:30 AM, military aircraft attacked a village in Zone 1 of Mindat Township, resulting in the deaths of a 13-year-old student and a 40-year-old woman, while 11 other civilians were injured in the attack.
The aerial assault caused significant damage to a village school and over 40 households. According to a statement from the Mindat Township People’s Administration Body, the military has conducted 13 separate aerial attacks within Mindat Township between February and May 2025. Local sources report that while there are no longer active ground battles in Mindat Township, the military council continues to conduct frequent aerial bombardments, and the region faces severe difficulties with internet and communication systems.
Groups supporting revolutionary forces in Mindat Township report that while there have been no ground battles since the town’s capture and the military cannot enter the area on foot, they regularly conduct aerial surveillance and bombing operations. They indicate that while the town would be relatively peaceful without the air strikes, aerial attacks remain the primary concern for residents. Additionally, it was reported that the military council also conducted aerial attacks on Theetlin Township in Magway Region on May 15 at 11:00 PM.
