Local residents in Sanchaung Township reported hearing a loud explosion near Aung Thapyay Road around 8:40 PM. A resident from Kyun Taw Road described the explosion as extremely loud, comparing it to the sound of a tire burst or transformer explosion. The resident also noted that it had been quite some time since explosion sounds were last heard in Yangon.
The resistance forces confirmed their safe withdrawal after the operation. Urban guerrilla forces continue to operate covertly within Yangon alongside the civilian population, and they have issued apologies for any disturbance their military operations may cause to the public. These attacks are described as part of the people’s revolution against the military dictatorship, with resistance forces maintaining their presence within the city while conducting strategic operations against military council targets.
