
A battle broke out between revolutionary joint forces and military council troops at Hnit Karen Ferry Terminal in Ye Township, Mon State, resulting in the death of four military council soldiers including Deputy Warrant Officer Gaung Phyu (aka) Nay Myoe Htike from Infantry Battalion 106. The clash began around 6 AM on May 10 when the military council troops were advancing from Kawdut Ferry Terminal to Hnit Karen Ferry Terminal. The military council force consisted of approximately 100 personnel, and the battle lasted about 30 minutes, resulting in four deaths and two injuries on the military council side.
Deputy Warrant Officer Nay Myoe Htike was killed by a bullet that entered through his arm and reached his heart. He was known as a notorious figure within his battalion and had been given the nickname ‘Gaung Phyu’ (White Head). The military column was a joint force led by Column Commander Captain Ye Myint Htut from Infantry Battalion 317, Deputy Warrant Officer Nay Myoe Htike from Infantry Battalion 106, and Major Myo Min Nyi from Infantry Battalion 588. In a nearby area on the opposite island, another military council force of about 70 personnel also engaged in combat using heavy weapons, small arms, and drones.
The battle involved joint operations between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 27 Tapin Shwehti and Dawn Annihilation Force. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without any casualties. Additionally, on May 11 in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region, another clash occurred resulting in three military council soldiers’ deaths. At approximately 11:50 AM, members of the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3703 ambushed a Dyna truck carrying two military council soldiers on the Shwegyin-Nyaunglebin road between Yekyichaung and Pazunmyaing villages, killing both soldiers instantly. When reinforcements arrived from Pazunmyaing village and Tayat Bridge checkpoint and began firing indiscriminately with small arms, a sniper from PDF Battalion 3703 responded, killing an additional military council soldier.
