Reports from local residents and revolutionary organizations confirm that the military council forces conducted aerial bombardments in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region. On May 9, a Y-12 aircraft from the military council’s Tatmadaw Air Base conducted bombing raids from 6:20 AM to 6:30 AM, dropping at least 12 bombs during the ten-minute attack, according to a representative from the Yaw Alinn Tan organization.
While the exact extent of damage to civilian lives and properties remains unclear, revolutionary organizations have warned local residents to exercise extreme caution as the military council continues to conduct daily aerial attacks. The military council deliberately targets civilian villages in areas where there are no active conflicts or military operations, demonstrating a pattern of intentional attacks on civilian populations.
Due to these ongoing war crimes against civilians, revolutionary organizations have advised people to follow air raid defense protocols and construct bomb shelters at their homes. Although the military council announced a temporary nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, in reality, they continue to commit war crimes across the country, including military column operations, aerial bombardments, heavy artillery attacks, and drone strikes, according to documentation from revolutionary organizations. These actions directly contradict their announced ceasefire and demonstrate their continued aggression against civilian populations throughout Myanmar.
