In Thone Pan Hla village of Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, military council forces conducted an aerial attack using mechanized paratroopers, resulting in the death of three civilians, including a 10-year-old fourth-grade student, despite there being no active conflict in the area. According to local residents, the incident occurred on the morning of May 10, while villagers were going about their normal daily activities when the military deliberately launched the attack.
In addition to the fatalities, two other civilians were injured in the aerial assault. Although the military council announced a nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, revolutionary forces have confirmed that in reality, the military continues to conduct aerial attacks, drone bombings, and military operations throughout the country.
According to a local resident from Thone Pan Hla village, there had been no military presence or fighting in the village prior to the attack. The villagers were simply carrying out their daily routines when they were suddenly subjected to the aerial assault. Such attacks constitute war crimes against innocent civilians and violate international human rights laws. The military council’s actions demonstrate a clear pattern of violence against civilians, despite their public announcements of temporary ceasefires.
