The military council’s air force has conducted continuous aerial attacks in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, according to local residents and revolutionary organizations. On May 9, a Y-12 aircraft from the military council’s Tatmadaw Bridge air base carried out bombing raids from 6:20 AM to 6:30 AM, dropping at least 12 bombs during the ten-minute attack, as confirmed by a representative from the Yaw Alinntan organization.
While the extent of damage and casualties from the aerial attack is still being assessed, revolutionary forces have warned local residents to remain extremely vigilant as the military council continues to conduct daily air strikes. The military council has been consistently targeting civilian villages and residential areas even in locations where there are no active conflicts or military operations, demonstrating a pattern of indiscriminate aerial bombardment against civilian populations.
As a result, revolutionary organizations have advised local residents to follow air raid defense protocols and construct bomb shelters at every household. Despite the military council’s announcement of a nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they have continued to conduct military operations across the country, including troop deployments, aerial bombings, heavy artillery strikes, and drone attacks, according to documentation from revolutionary groups. This ongoing military activity directly contradicts their ceasefire declaration and demonstrates the continued threat to civilian safety in the region.
