The terrorist military council has conducted aerial bombardments in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, according to local sources and revolutionary organizations. On May 9, a Y-12 aircraft from the military council’s Tatmadaw Air Base conducted bombing raids from 6:20 AM to 6:30 AM, dropping at least 12 bombs during the ten-minute attack, as confirmed by a representative from the Yaw Alinn Tan organization.
While the full extent of damage to civilian lives and properties from this bombing raid remains unclear, revolutionary organizations have warned that the military council continues to conduct daily aerial attacks. They have advised local residents to take precautionary measures against air strikes, specifically recommending that every household construct bomb shelters for protection against aerial attacks. The military council’s actions have created an atmosphere of constant threat for civilians in the region, forcing them to live under persistent fear of aerial bombardment.
Despite the military council’s announcement of a nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they continue to conduct military operations across the country, including troop deployments, aerial bombings, artillery strikes, and drone surveillance attacks. According to statements from revolutionary organizations, the military council deliberately targets civilian villages even in areas where there is no active fighting or military activity. This pattern of attacking civilian populations demonstrates a clear violation of their own declared ceasefire and shows their continued aggression against the civilian population. The military council’s actions have been particularly concerning as they specifically target civilian residential areas without any military justification, causing widespread fear and displacement among the local population.
