
Revolutionary forces conducted attacks on military council troops and outposts in Yedashe Township of Magway Region and Thegon Township of Bago Region, resulting in casualties among military council forces. In Yedashe town of Magway Region, on May 3rd around 4 PM, a military column of approximately 90 troops from Infantry Battalion 258 was attacked by the Yedashe People’s Defense Force (PDF) while returning from delivering supplies and ammunition to government offices in the town. The attack occurred near the town’s exit point using landmines.
The attack resulted in serious injuries to two military council soldiers. After the attack, the military column split into two groups and retreated to Infantry Battalions 256 and 258. The resistance forces used four connected mines in the attack, and all PDF members were able to safely withdraw from the area without any casualties, according to a spokesperson from the Yedashe PDF. The attack location was described as being close to the town but relatively far from the military battalion base.
Additionally, in Sinmyitswe town of Thegon Township, Pyay District, Bago Region, revolutionary forces attacked a military council outpost stationed at an agriculture center on May 5th at 9:20 PM. The attack was carried out by Unit 5 of the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3601 of Pyay District, who conducted a surprise assault on the outpost. The engagement resulted in an exchange of fire between both sides, with reported casualties among military council troops. The dead and wounded were evacuated to Pyay town that same night. The resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The People’s Defense Forces have warned civilians against providing any form of assistance to the military council, including human resources, financial support, or transportation services.
