
In Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, three civilians were killed and Kan Gyi Kone village was set on fire due to the terrorist military’s offensive operations. According to local residents, the military forces began burning Kan Gyi Kone village around 9 AM on May 6. The military column, consisting of approximately 70 troops, had departed from Military Division 33 in Sagaing on April 25.
The military’s airstrikes and artillery attacks resulted in the death of two civilians from Kan Gyi Kone village and one from Kyauk Pa Nan village, while another civilian was injured. Two cattle were also killed in the attack. Due to the military’s offensive operations, residents from Sa Yay village, Ywa Thit village, Kyauk Pa Nan village, and Kan Gyi Kone village have been forced to flee to safer locations.
According to a local resident, the military has been firing small arms within Kan Gyi Kone village, and villagers have not lived in the village for about two years. The artillery unit 6005 at Ohnnwa has been firing Howitzer artillery both day and night, while troops from Sagaing Division 33 are attempting to advance toward Pa Du Kwe Garden area. The ongoing military operations have caused widespread displacement and destruction in the region, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence as they are forced to abandon their homes and seek safety elsewhere.
