A military security outpost near the Chinese Wanbao Company along the Monywa-Pathein road in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, was attacked by resistance forces, resulting in the death of 6 soldiers. The attack was carried out by a coalition of revolutionary forces including the Black Eagle LPDF. The incident occurred around 1 PM on May 3rd, targeting approximately 40 military personnel who were reportedly extorting money from civilians while manning the security checkpoint.
During the attack, six military personnel were killed and several others were injured, while the resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The operation was jointly conducted by Black Eagle LPDF, Fighter Brotherhood Guerrilla Army (FBGA), the Border Guard Zamani Guerrilla Force (Yinmarpin Drone Team), and other allied forces. According to a responsible official from Black Eagle LPDF, the attack was prompted by reports of military personnel drinking while on duty and demanding money from traveling civilians.
The Black Eagle LPDF spokesperson explained that while they faced a military force of around 40 personnel, the resistance forces had to withdraw strategically due to limited ammunition and weapons supplies. He emphasized that with adequate weapons and ammunition, they would be capable of conducting larger-scale operations. The attack demonstrates the ongoing resistance against military forces in the region, particularly targeting units that harass and exploit civilian populations. The successful operation, despite limited resources, highlights the effectiveness of coordinated actions between various resistance groups in the area.
