
In Sagaing Region’s Kanbalu Township, along the Kabo-Zikone road, resistance forces attacked military council soldiers who were conducting a patrol, resulting in two casualties from the military side and one capture, along with the seizure of weapons. The incident occurred on May 2 at approximately 10:27 AM, according to a confirmation from an official of Kanbalu District Battalion 2 (KB-2).
The incident unfolded when five soldiers from the military council outpost stationed in Wettoe village along the Kabo-Zikone road went out on patrol. Revolutionary forces led by Ko Ngay Lay, the People’s Administration Officer of Thankone sub-township in Kanbalu Township, had prepared an ambush. During the engagement, one military council soldier and one Pyu Saw Htee member were killed, while another Pyu Saw Htee member was captured alive.
During the clash, revolutionary forces seized one AK-47 rifle, one ammunition magazine, 15 rounds of ammunition, and one mobile phone. After the engagement, resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without suffering any casualties. Such operations are part of the resistance forces’ efforts to control military council movements in the region. The incident demonstrates the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and military council troops in the Sagaing Region, where local defense forces continue to challenge military control.
