The Anya Pistine Htaung Lay Group has provided food donations on behalf of donors to internally displaced persons (IDPs) at three camps in Sarlinkyi Township, where civilians have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s brutal offensive operations. The donation campaign targeted three separate IDP camps with the aim of helping address the dire food security needs of displaced civilians who are struggling to meet their basic daily requirements.
The displaced residents are currently seeking shelter in IDP camps after being forced to abandon their homes due to the military council’s heavy artillery attacks and destruction of civilian properties through arson. They face significant daily challenges in securing adequate food and basic necessities. While humanitarian organizations and volunteers are providing assistance within their means, the needs of the displaced population remain substantial and ongoing.
The Anya Pistine Htaung Lay Group regularly visits IDP camps to provide necessary support, and in this latest initiative, they were able to distribute essential food supplies to the displaced civilians. The group prioritizes support for vulnerable groups within the camps, including children, elderly persons, and women. The ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by military operations has created severe hardship for civilians who continue to require sustained assistance to meet their fundamental needs while living in temporary shelters away from their homes.
