
Revolutionary forces launched attacks on military columns from Light Infantry Battalion 73 based in Zarapgyi town, Thanyarpin Township, Bago Region, and from Thyapyenyone camp, resulting in the death of 11 military council soldiers. On the morning of April 28, when a military column from LIB 73 left to deliver supplies to Thyapyenyone camp, revolutionary forces conducted a joint attack that killed 6 military council soldiers, as confirmed by an official from Battalion 3501 Company 2.
Additionally, around 3 PM on April 28, People’s Defense Forces ambushed another military column that was attempting to transport wounded soldiers from Thyapyenyone camp in KNU Brigade 2 territory to LIB 73 base in Zarapgyi town, resulting in at least 5 more military casualties. The battle continued from morning until night, with the military council deploying approximately 70 troops in their offensive operations.
According to an official from the Yaw Nar Drone Force, the military column from Thyapyenyone camp had captured local civilians and was using them as human shields. During the battle, when military council troops fled due to drone attacks, the captured civilians managed to escape. The military operation involved coordinated efforts from multiple resistance groups including the Taungoo Township People’s Defense Force (PDF), Taungoo District Battalion 3501 Drone Force, Battalion 3502 Company 3, Battalion 3501 Company 2, Battalion 3502, KNU Brigade 2 Battalion 6, and the Yaw Nar Drone Force.
