
The People’s Defense Force in Yebyu Township has confirmed that at least eight military council soldiers were killed during a two-day battle in the Nabule area of Yebyu Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region. The clash began around 11 AM on April 24 near the foot of Chayethat Hill in Leshaung village, Nabule area. The fighting erupted when resistance forces attacked military council troops who were advancing towards the Dawei Special Economic Zone, resulting in an exchange of fire between the two sides.
The resistance forces involved in the battle included the Yebyu Township People’s Defense Force, Dawei People’s Liberation Force’s Thagara Column, Dawei District Battalion No. 1, T-1 Force, Dauna Column 3, Karenni National Defense Force’s Battalion 4, Battalion 6 (Weihin), Battalion 7 (LPF), Dawei District People’s Defense Force Front, DGRF, Naga Ni Guerrilla Force, and Shwe Bi Lon Force. During the engagement, at least eight military council soldiers were confirmed dead, with many others sustaining injuries.
The Yebyu Township Allied Forces have declared their commitment to continue fighting until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system. They have also urged soldiers within the military council’s forces to defect and join the people’s side as soon as possible. Local residents remain vigilant about military council troop movements and continue to cooperate with revolutionary forces in the area. The resistance forces maintain their stance of protecting civilians while opposing the military council’s oppressive actions against the people.
