
The Arakan Army (AA) has been conducting offensive operations in Bago Region while maintaining active coordination with local People’s Defense Forces (PDF), according to confirmation from officials of the 3601 Battalion of Pyay District People’s Defense Force. Currently, AA forces have entered Pantaung Township along the border of Rakhine Yoma and Bago Region, successfully capturing several military council outposts. Military coordination and cooperation between local People’s Defense Forces and AA troops have been confirmed by multiple sources.
Pantaung Township hosts a significant concentration of the military council’s defense production units, and military tensions in these areas are expected to escalate. Additionally, military council forces are preparing to launch operations in the Pyay District and Bago Yoma area, with reports indicating the movement of hundreds of troops. Intelligence reports confirm the movement of approximately 200 soldiers with 8 military vehicles in the Paungtalon area. The military council’s preparations for increased operations in the region have prompted local resistance forces to strengthen their defensive positions.
The Arakan Army continues to conduct military operations along the borders where Rakhine Yoma meets neighboring regions, including the Rakhine-Bago border, Rakhine-Magway border, and Rakhine-Ayeyarwady border areas. They successfully captured the Mohtee Mountain military outpost on January 26 and completely seized the Nyaungkyoe Strategic Hill on April 2. Currently, AA forces, in collaboration with local People’s Defense Forces, are continuing offensive operations within Pantaung Township, according to revolutionary sources. The joint operations demonstrate the growing coordination between various resistance forces in their fight against the military council, with local defense forces maintaining readiness for potential escalation of military activities in the region.
