A military council convoy was attacked with mines on the Monywa-Mandalay road in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, according to reports. The People’s Defense Force announced that on the morning of April 28, they targeted the fifth and sixth vehicles from a convoy of seven military jammer vehicles that had departed from Monywa city. The attack took place between Nataykan and Yepawsar villages using three Padaytha mines, likely resulting in casualties among military council forces.
The attack was carried out by members of Strategic Command 64, Battalion 11 of Military Region 1 under the People’s Defense Force – South Monywa. Despite multiple layers of military patrol positions, the resistance forces successfully executed the operation. Although the military council forces responded with both heavy and light weapons fire, the PDF members were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The operation demonstrated the PDF’s ability to conduct successful attacks even in areas with heavy military presence.
Simultaneously, fighting was reported in Pyay Township, Toungoo District of Bago Region. The Pyay Township PDF confirmed that they conducted drone strikes for two consecutive days against military council troops who had entered the Four Houses Village area along the Brick Road. On April 25, three bomb attacks were carried out from afternoon until evening. The following day, April 26, two more drone strikes were conducted in the morning and evening. The PDF stated that these attacks likely resulted in military casualties, though exact numbers were still being investigated. These operations reflect the ongoing resistance activities against military council forces across multiple regions of Myanmar.
