According to local residents, two civilians were killed and many others were injured when the military council conducted airstrikes on a civilian hospital and a school in Thigyit Township, Sagaing Region. On April 26 around 12:00 PM, the military council’s aircraft bombed a civilian hospital in a village within Thigyit Township, resulting in injuries to two patients who were receiving treatment at the facility.
According to a local resident, the military council’s jet fighter circled the hospital three times before dropping two bombs. Because people could see the aircraft circling, patients were able to evacuate in time. Although the hospital was located among mango trees, it was precisely targeted due to information provided by military council informants about its exact location. Later that night at 11:38 PM, the military council conducted another airstrike on a school within Thigyit Township.
The nighttime bombing resulted in severe injuries to an elderly woman in her 80s, a woman in her 20s, and a 10-year-old child, while two other civilians were killed, according to local sources. Although the military council had declared a nationwide ceasefire from April 23 to April 30, revolutionary forces and local residents report that airstrikes and bombing attacks continue to be carried out consistently across the country.
