
The People’s Defense Force (PDF) Battalion 3601’s intelligence and information officer confirmed that three military soldiers were killed when revolutionary forces launched a mine attack against a military column in Paungde Township, Pyay District, Bago Region. On April 23 at 5:00 PM, when a military column of about 50 personnel reached near the palm grove at Yapyitaungkun area during their clearance operation, troops from Company 5 of the Pyay District People’s Defense Force Battalion 3601 attacked them with mines.
The attack resulted in three soldiers being killed instantly and seven others seriously wounded, with some of the injured in critical condition and likely to succumb to their injuries. The dead and wounded soldiers were transported back to town in a white Faw truck at 5:40 PM. People’s Defense Forces are intensifying their military operations, and as fierce battles could break out at any time, local residents have been warned not to stay close to military council troops or provide them with vehicles, supplies, or other assistance.
Additionally, revolutionary forces attacked a military council checkpoint on the Shwegyin-Madauk road in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, resulting in two soldiers being killed, according to the Dragon Fire Column. On April 24 at 11:40 AM, combined forces from KNLA Battalion 7 and People’s Defense Force Battalion 3703 (Dragon Fire) launched an attack on the stationed checkpoint along the Shwegyin-Madauk road. After intense fighting, two military soldiers were killed while the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew without any casualties.
