Three military council soldiers were injured in a mine attack by People’s Defense Forces (PDF) while conducting patrol operations in Paungkhaung Township, Pyay District, Bago Region, according to an official from Battalion 3602. The incident occurred on April 19 at approximately 10:15 AM when about 20 soldiers from a larger group of 70 stationed in the Chauk Pin Forest Plantation area were moving to set up an ambush position near Phyo Si Thu Pagoda Hill along the Paungkhaung-Oaktwin road.
The attack was carried out by members of the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3602 of Pyay District. Although the military council troops returned fire with small arms, the PDF forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. In a separate incident in Sagaing Region’s Ayadaw Township, a corporal from Tank Battalion 5004 was severely wounded in an attack. The Monywa District PDF Special Combat Force – Danger Force confirmed the successful operation.
On April 22 at 10:44 AM, PDF forces ambushed Corporal Win Tin, who was traveling from Ayadaw town to the tank battalion, resulting in severe injuries to his right shoulder from gunshot wounds. Later at 11:20 AM, the resistance forces launched an attack using an M-79 launcher, firing a 40mm shell at military council troops stationed at the Industrial Farm checkpoint in Ayadaw town. The shell reportedly exploded inside the checkpoint, likely causing casualties among the military council soldiers.
With military tensions escalating across the country, civilians have been advised to carefully follow the guidelines and warnings issued by the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Defense and revolutionary forces regarding battle information, air raid precautions, and evacuation procedures. These attacks demonstrate the increasing capabilities of People’s Defense Forces and their ability to effectively engage military council targets. The resistance movements note that these operations reflect the growing tactical effectiveness of their forces in challenging the military council’s control. The public is urged to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols as the conflict continues to intensify throughout the country.
