A spokesperson from the People’s Revolutionary Alliance-Magway (PRA-Magway) has confirmed that between January and April, 23 battles occurred in Ngape Township, Magway Region, resulting in the death of 63 military council soldiers, including Major Thiha Aung, and the capture of 18 prisoners of war, including Captain Aung Nyein Chan and Captain Tin Ko Htet.
During February, revolutionary forces ambushed approximately 20 military council troops who were attempting to establish a surveillance post near Sinkona Garden in the vicinity of Natyekan. The attack resulted in four military council soldiers being wounded. In another engagement, revolutionary forces intercepted and attacked a military column of about 60 troops descending from Natyekan Strategic Hill, resulting in six military council soldiers killed and four wounded.
In March, revolutionary forces engaged a military council column from Light Infantry Division 99 near Lein Village as they advanced from Pazi Village. The battle resulted in seven military council soldiers killed and four wounded. On March 30, the PRA-Magway, in cooperation with Minbu District Battalion 2, launched an attack on the Padaung City entrance checkpoint along the Pathein-Monywa road, resulting in six military council soldiers killed and four wounded. The checkpoint, jointly operated by military, police, and Pyu Saw Htee forces, had been known for extorting money from civilians and market vendors.
The PRA-Magway continues to collaborate with allied revolutionary organizations in the Amm-Padaung operation while expanding their area of operations. A spokesperson indicated that while some activities had been temporarily suspended due to earthquake concerns, operations have now resumed as they continue their march toward the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system.
