The Chinland Defense Force – Hakha has officially announced that three members of the People’s Militia from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 266, based in Hakha, Chin State, have defected to the revolutionary forces along with their weapons. The three militia members left the military council’s strategic camp on April 13, bringing with them combat weapons and ammunition. The weapons included one MA1 rifle, one MA3 rifle, and one MA11 rifle, significantly bolstering the resistance’s arsenal. This defection represents a notable blow to the military council’s forces in the region and demonstrates growing dissatisfaction within their ranks.
The Chinland Defense Force warmly welcomed the three defectors and recognized their courage and decision by awarding them monetary compensation. The resistance group has guaranteed their safety and promised to relocate them to secure locations. This welcoming approach to defectors serves as an important strategic element of the revolution, encouraging other military council personnel to consider joining the people’s side. The defection also provides valuable intelligence about the military council’s operations and demonstrates the eroding loyalty within their forces.
In their official statement, the Chinland Defense Force announced that they maintain an open-door policy for anyone currently serving under the military council who wishes to defect. They assured potential defectors that they can make contact at any time and will be received through secure channels. The resistance group has committed to taking full responsibility for the security and future well-being of those who choose to join the people’s side. These actions are designed to gradually diminish the military council’s strength while simultaneously strengthening the revolutionary forces. The successful integration of these defectors, complete with their weapons and tactical knowledge, represents a significant development in the ongoing struggle against the military council’s oppressive rule.
