
In the battle to capture Falam, the second-largest city in Chin State, the Kalay District People’s Defense Force participated in the fighting, during which one revolutionary fighter sacrificed his life. The Special Operations and Strike Force of the Kalay District People’s Defense Force (PDF) Office, the Drone Team (Wings of Kalay) of the Kalay District PDF Office, and the Urban Guerrilla Force (UG) of Kalay Township had been training and preparing for the Falam offensive alongside the Chinland Brotherhood (CB) forces since July 2024.
The revolutionary allied forces launched their offensive to capture Falam city on November 9, 2024. The military council’s Infantry Battalion 268 base in Falam was a strategic position commanded by a tactical commander, situated on a crucial supply route between Hakha city and the Kalay Regional Military Command headquarters. During the battle, 10 fighters from the Kalay District PDF were wounded and one fighter was killed, while 9 fighters from the Urban Guerrilla Force sustained injuries.
The revolutionary forces successfully captured Falam city on April 8, 2025. The Kalay District People’s Defense Force has pledged to continue fighting alongside allied forces under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship. The Kalay District People’s Defense Force issued a statement paying respects to all revolutionary fighters who sacrificed their lives during the battle.
