A civilian was injured and five houses were burned down when the terrorist military conducted airstrikes using incendiary bombs on Saytaw village in Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, according to a representative from the Thaung Tha Township Public Movement Committee. The incident occurred around 2:15 AM on April 7, 2024, when three military helicopters from the Meiktila Air Base dropped nine bombs, including incendiary bombs, on Saytaw village without any ongoing battles in the area.
The aerial attack resulted in severe injuries to one villager and the complete destruction of five residential houses by fire. Since the military coup, the terrorist military has been systematically conducting violent attacks against civilians, particularly in rural areas, through airstrikes, arson attacks, and killings. Such deliberate attacks on civilian areas where no fighting is taking place have been declared war crimes and crimes against humanity by international human rights organizations.
A representative from the Thaung Tha Township Public Movement Committee stated that the terrorist military is conducting these attacks with the intention of psychologically affecting and intimidating local residents. However, the people remain undeterred and continue to march forward in their revolutionary journey. The representative further emphasized that the public will continue their united struggle until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system.
