Local residents and People’s Defense Force officials have confirmed that Major Thaw Zin Oo from Military Council Unit 24 and U Myint Oo, owner of White House KTV, were killed in an attack in Pakokku, Magway Region. The incident occurred around 9 PM on April 10th when the two were returning by car from the Pakokku golf course. They were ambushed by resistance forces between the Industrial Zone railway station and White House KTV, resulting in both men being killed at the scene.
According to local residents, heavy gunfire and explosions were heard during the attack, which took place near Seiktwin village close to the White House KTV. The operation was jointly carried out by several local resistance groups including the Earthquake People’s Defense Force, Thu Rein TR, Six Senses Guerrilla Force, Justice Revolution Force, Hunter PKU, Black Cheater, Pakokku District Battalion 2 (The Red Revolters Force), Myaing PDF Battalion 3 Division 4, and Shwe Nya Myay Force (Pakokku).
Due to increasing military tensions in the area, resistance forces have warned civilians to stay away from military council camps and personnel. Additionally, about four days prior to this incident, there was an attack using heavy weapons on the military-affiliated Mytel office in Pakokku. Following that attack, the military council conducted extensive searches throughout the entire city, claiming they were looking for missing weapons. The situation highlights the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and the military council in the region, with local defense forces continuing their operations against military targets while attempting to protect civilian populations from potential military reprisals.
