A series of intense battles that lasted five days from March 24 to March 28 in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, resulted in at least six military council soldiers killed and the loss of two military outposts, according to officials from the Myingyan District Battalion 7 – Zero Guerrilla Force. The fighting primarily occurred near Nan Myint Mountain along the Myingyan-Thaung Tha road section.
The initial clash began on March 24 at around 7 AM when military council forces attempted to raid a People’s Defense Force (PDF) camp, leading to a two-hour exchange of fire. In subsequent fighting that evening, six military council soldiers were confirmed killed and many others wounded. The injured were transported to Myingyan Hospital using a Faw truck and a pickup truck. The military council later deployed additional ground forces with reinforcements arriving in the area.
On March 25, intense fighting continued on Nan Myint Mountain for three hours. Revolutionary forces employed drones, 40mm weapons, and Inaga bombs in their attacks. After suffering significant casualties, the military council responded with jet fighter airstrikes in the evening, though these did not result in any casualties among the resistance forces. The revolutionary forces had taken strategic positions on Nan Myint Mountain, allowing them to effectively target military council troops attempting to advance uphill.
The fighting continued from March 26 to March 28, during which revolutionary forces successfully captured the military council’s Nat Sin Kone and Phaya Kone outposts. The military council retaliated with howitzer artillery and 60mm mortar attacks, resulting in injuries to Officer Aung Khant from the Zero Guerrilla Force, who sustained a leg wound. Local civilians have been forced to flee to safer areas, and military tensions remain high in the region. The military council’s attempts to maintain control over the Myingyan-Thaung Tha road section have been significantly challenged by the resistance forces’ operations.
