According to statements from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), three members of the military council forces were killed in various conflicts across Myanmar on April 6. This information is based on official statements and communications from local defense forces and People’s Defense Forces. However, it should be noted that independent journalists have not been able to verify these casualties on the ground due to access restrictions and security concerns.
The military council continues to commit acts of violence against civilians while forcing people into military service and mandatory military training programs. They have been consistently involved in burning civilian homes, arbitrarily arresting villagers, confiscating public property, and committing various human rights violations on a daily basis. The ongoing conflicts are a direct result of civilians being forced to defend themselves against the military council’s violent actions, leading to armed resistance movements across the country.
People’s Defense Forces are engaged in battles while protecting their regions from military council attacks, actively resisting offensive operations launched by military council troops. Local civilians are cooperating with People’s Defense Forces to protect their lives, homes, and properties. Due to the military council’s violent actions, many civilians have been forced to flee their homes, facing severe shortages of food supplies and medical resources. The ongoing conflict has created a humanitarian crisis with displaced populations struggling to access basic necessities while continuing to resist the military council’s oppression.
