The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has officially announced that the military council forces conducted aerial bombardments on Naung Cho Township in northern Shan State, which is under TNLA control. On April 5 at approximately 10:11 PM, military council forces launched three separate attacks using fighter jets, dropping three 250-pound bombs on Naung Lin and Nam Saung Hu villages in Naung Cho Township. The attacks resulted in the destruction of four civilian homes.
Despite the military council’s declaration of a unilateral ceasefire from April 2 to April 22, they have continued to conduct regular aerial attacks within Naung Cho Township. Additionally, on April 5 at 2:20 PM, fighter jets dropped two bombs near Spider Mountain west of Mogok city. During the ceasefire period, the military council also conducted four separate aerial attacks in the Seven Mile area of Pyitsar Gyin Township, dropping eight bombs in total.
Notably, even during the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, military council forces conducted airstrikes on Naung Lin village, dropping two 250-pound bombs that damaged three homes and two schools. Despite the Northern Alliance’s unilateral ceasefire declaration, the military council has continued to reinforce its troops, launch offensives, and conduct aerial attacks even in areas where there had been no previous fighting. The National Unity Government (NUG) and revolutionary forces have confirmed that these military operations and aerial attacks have continued unabated throughout the declared ceasefire period.
