Two military council soldiers were killed in separate attacks in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, and Pakokku Township, Magway Region. In Dawei, members of the People’s Defense Force (Oo Tho Column) launched a sniper attack on March 26 against a military council outpost stationed near the Shwegu Bridge checkpoint at Shwegu Pagoda. The attack resulted in the death of one military council soldier, while the resistance fighters successfully withdrew without any casualties.
According to the information officer from the Oo Tho Column, the military outpost had between 10 to 20 military council troops stationed there. The sniper attack killed one soldier without causing injuries to other troops. While there was no immediate response from the military council forces following the attack, they later conducted retaliatory fire with small arms during the night. The military council’s presence in the area has been a source of tension, with their forces maintaining strategic positions around key infrastructure.
In Pakokku Township, resistance forces conducted rocket attacks on four Pyu Saw Htee villages, resulting in the death of one Pyu Saw Htee member. The operations, carried out jointly by the Ayeyarwaddy Dragon Force and COBRA ONE Pakokku between March 28 and 30, targeted the villages of Shin Ma Kan, Nyaung Gyi Pin, West Ma Gyi Kan, and Aung Tha. The resistance forces launched 12 rockets during the offensive. During the attacks, military council soldiers from Ma Gyi Kan Pyu Saw Htee village fled toward Aung Tha village.
Currently, the military council has reinforced its troops in Nyaung Gyi Pin and Shin Ma Kan villages. While these areas previously had a significant Pyu Saw Htee presence, they now host approximately 80 military council soldiers, according to a COBRA ONE official. Despite the military casualties, resistance forces reported no losses during these operations. The continued military presence and operations in these areas reflect the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and the military council, with local defense forces maintaining pressure on military positions while protecting civilian populations.
