According to an official from the Taungoo District Battalion No. 2, houses were destroyed when the military council conducted an aerial bombing in Hlay Swe Myaung village, Oaktwin Township, Bago Region, despite there being no active fighting in the area. The attack occurred on March 26 at 3:45 PM, when a single bomb was dropped from the air, resulting in houses being destroyed by fire. However, due to advance warning about the aerial attack, there were no civilian casualties reported.
Fighting continues in the Oaktwin Township area, with revolutionary forces attacking a military council convoy on the Paungkaung-Oaktwin highway on March 25 at 10:20 PM. The attack resulted in seven military council troops being killed and one military vehicle falling into a ravine. The military council has been deliberately targeting villages in Bago Region with daily artillery, drone, and aerial attacks, forcing local residents to flee their homes. The continuous attacks have created a significant displacement crisis in the region, with many civilians becoming internally displaced persons.
The displaced civilians are in urgent need of essential supplies including food, shelter, clothing, and medicine. While revolutionary forces are providing as much assistance as they can, there are still significant shortages. They have appealed to the public to contribute whatever aid they can provide to support the displaced civilians. Additionally, they have asked for understanding regarding the current difficulties faced by those who have been forced to flee their homes. The situation continues to deteriorate as the military council persists with its campaign of attacks against civilian areas, leading to an increasing humanitarian crisis in the region.
