A clash between revolutionary forces and military council troops based in Ram Pho village, Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulted in 10 military council soldiers being killed, according to an official from the Myeik People’s Defense Force (PDF). The incident occurred on March 26 at approximately 7:24 AM when revolutionary forces intercepted military council troops who were moving from Ram Pho village toward the oil palm plantation area.
The engagement lasted approximately one hour, during which 10 military council troops were killed and many others were wounded. The operation was jointly carried out by the Myeik People’s Defense Force, Colonel Regiment Force, Forest Python Force, and PDF Zone (3). The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties. The military council troops, who had been stationed in Ram Pho village, were moving on foot when they were ambushed by the resistance forces. However, no weapons or ammunition were captured during the engagement, as confirmed by the Myeik PDF official.
Local residents have been warned to avoid areas where fighting is occurring. The successful operation demonstrates the continued resistance against the military council in the Tanintharyi region, where various revolutionary groups are coordinating their efforts to oppose military control. The incident represents another significant blow to military council forces, who have been facing increasing resistance across multiple regions of Myanmar as part of the broader struggle against military rule.
