
The Karen National Union (KNU) has reported that a monk and four civilians, including children, were injured due to airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks by military council forces in Kyaukkyi Township, Bago Region. On March 25, military forces launched drone strikes on Talaingkhin village from Sinohnlwa village in Kyaukkyi Township, injuring three internally displaced persons (IDPs): 30-year-old Naw Mu Dar, 9-year-old Naw Ay Kraw Paw, and 1-year-old Naw Mu Klay Paw. One house was also destroyed in the attack.
Furthermore, on March 25 at 9:35 AM, the military council’s air force dropped three incendiary bombs on Htee Nya Pay Kloe, destroying homes and shops. Later that day at 12:20 PM, the military also attacked Thaung Pu village. On March 24 at 3:45 PM, the military conducted an airstrike between Intainkone and Leinpin villages, resulting in the severing of Venerable U Sandawbatha’s right arm and killing six cattle.
Similarly, in Rakhine State’s Ponnakyun Township, military airstrikes resulted in the deaths of four IDPs and injured 14 others. On March 25 at 7:00 PM, the military conducted an airstrike on Aungphyupyin village in Ponnakyun Township, killing four IDPs: 53-year-old U Than Maung, his 45-year-old wife Daw Ma Yee, 19-year-old Ko Maung Thet Naing, and 25-year-old Ko Ye Linn Soe. The attack also injured 14 people, including five children aged between 2 and 15 years, two men, and seven women.
