Revolutionary forces conducted an attack on a military council vehicle carrying officers on Asia Highway No. 8 in Ye Township, Mon State, resulting in the death of three personnel including one officer, as confirmed by the commander of the Ye Bilu group. The incident occurred on the morning of March 26 when officers from Infantry Battalion 586 were traveling in a white vehicle to Infantry Battalion 587 when the Ye Bilu group launched an ambush attack midway through their journey.
The attack took place between a trench and an airfield, with the Ye Bilu group taking up strategic positions around 8 AM before launching their assault. During the attack, three military council personnel were killed, including one officer and two soldiers, while the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. Following the attack, military council troops arrived at the scene and transported the bodies of the deceased to Infantry Battalion 587.
According to the Ye Bilu group commander, the attack was a pre-planned operation based on intelligence gathered through surveillance of military council movements. The attack location was strategically chosen, situated more than a mile away from Infantry Battalion 586. The commander emphasized that the operation was executed based on careful planning and reliable intelligence, allowing the revolutionary forces to conduct an effective ambush while ensuring their safe withdrawal from the area. The successful operation demonstrated the continued resistance against the military council’s presence in the region.
