
On March 21st at around 8 PM, resistance forces conducted a mine attack against military council soldiers who were leaving the General Administration Office in Chaung-U town, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of two military council soldiers, according to a responsible official from the BLDF’s Anya Mine Group. The incident occurred when 17 military council soldiers from Mogaung Monastery were ambushed near Finland Pin Monastery as they were exiting the General Administration Office.
During the attack, two military council soldiers were killed and three others were injured. Two severely wounded soldiers were transferred to Monywa Hospital, while the remaining three are receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Chaung-U town. Although military council forces returned fire after the attack, resistance fighters were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. The attack was carried out using two mines, and the military council forces only managed to fire back three or four times according to battle reports.
A representative from the BLDF Anya Mine Group stated that they will continue to do their utmost to protect the lives and property of civilians, and will continue to combat the military council soldiers’ oppression and extortion of civilians. The resistance forces are conducting such defensive operations in response to the military council’s ongoing violence, threats, and monetary demands against local civilians.
