A clash occurred in Nganzun Township along the Mandalay-Myingyan road resulting in the death of four military council soldiers. The incident took place on March 21 at approximately 9:45 AM when resistance forces attacked a group of 15 military council soldiers who were forcibly recruiting civilians as porters and extorting money from young travelers. The military troops had been stationed near Myotha Industrial Zone and Aya Bank in Nganzun Township when the attack occurred.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Naga Ni Python Force-Myingyan, Battalion 6 Division 3 of Nganzun Township, and the Nganzun Township People’s Defense Force. During the engagement, four military council soldiers were killed and one was severely wounded. According to a responsible official from the Naga Ni Python Force, the bodies of the deceased soldiers were later transported back to the industrial zone. The attack was specifically targeted at military council forces who had been systematically forcing civilians into porter service and demanding illegal payments from travelers along the route.
The area has been known for frequent incidents of forced civilian porter recruitment and extortion by military council forces. The resistance forces launched this attack specifically to counter these oppressive practices against civilians. Sources confirmed that all resistance force members successfully withdrew from the area after the operation without suffering any casualties. This incident represents one of the ongoing confrontations between resistance forces and military council troops in the region, where civilian protection from military exploitation remains a primary objective of the resistance movement.
