
A military council guard was killed after being shot by a sniper while on watchtower duty in Kani Pyusawthi village, Myaing Township, Magway Region on the morning of March 19. The attack was carried out through coordination between local People’s Defense Forces including MPL Northern Zone Myaing-PDF, Manyinheikohtet PDF, Ko Gatone Township-4 PDF, Thyawta PDF, and Colleyo Eagle Brigade. The guard fell from the watchtower after being hit by sniper fire.
Following the attack, military council forces arrived in large numbers, leading to exchanges of fire with revolutionary forces. The resistance forces strategically withdrew without suffering any casualties, according to officials. While the People’s Defense Forces had to retreat due to the military council’s superior numbers after the successful sniper attack, their operation achieved its objective. The attacking force confirmed that all their members returned safely from the operation.
