
The military council is now implementing a nationwide surveillance system using the National Database to identify and arrest military deserters, police deserters, Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) participants, and political activists, according to military sources in Naypyidaw. This system is being used to collect personal information and track down individuals involved in political activities.
In Nga Tharauk sub-township of Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, revolutionary forces successfully attacked and decimated an entire military council column. Following this incident, when another military council force entered Nyaung-U Township, joint revolutionary forces conducted an intercept operation resulting in the deaths of 5 military council soldiers, as confirmed by a representative from the Bagan Byoe Choe group.
Despite repeatedly claiming to be the protectors of Buddhism in Myanmar, the military council conducted an airstrike using a helicopter gunship on a monastery in Magyipin Tae village, Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, causing severe damage to the monastery buildings. This action clearly demonstrates the military council’s disregard for religious institutions, contradicting their own claims of protecting Buddhism.
