A drone attack was carried out by the military council forces near the residence of KNLA Commander-in-Chief General Saw Johnny, located within KNU Brigade 7 territory. According to KNU sources, three suicide drones launched by the military council forces at around 3 AM on March 18 struck and exploded near the Commander-in-Chief’s residence, though no casualties or damage to property were reported. The explosions were powerful enough to cause ground tremors, with one bomb detonating near a waterfront area and another near a football field.
This attack by the military council forces is believed to be in retaliation for the successful capture of their Pu Lu Tu camp in Paingkyon Township within Brigade 7 territory by KNLA-led allied forces on March 14. The KNU source analyzed that the military council forces are specifically targeting Brigade 7 headquarters with suicide drones, noting that the explosions were more powerful than previous attacks. The source further emphasized that these drone strikes represent an escalation in the military council’s offensive tactics against KNU positions.
