In Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, resistance forces conducted two separate mine attacks on military council convoys, resulting in the death of five military council soldiers, according to a representative from the Bagan Bogyoke Cho group. The attacks occurred on March 16 along the road connecting Bagan-Nyaung-U to Chauk. The first attack targeted a military convoy consisting of two armored vehicles and two military trucks, resulting in one soldier’s death and four others being injured. The resistance forces successfully retreated without any casualties after the operation.
Later that evening, a second attack was carried out when military council forces were conducting patrol operations in the area. This subsequent attack resulted in the death of four additional military council soldiers. The attacks took place on the Bagan-Nyaung-U to Chauk road section, demonstrating the continued resistance activities against military council forces in the region. The resistance forces specifically targeted the military council’s vehicles and personnel, avoiding civilian casualties in both operations.
Rakha, the responsible officer from the Bagan Bogyoke Cho group, confirmed the details of both attacks, explaining that the first incident occurred when the military council convoy was departing from Bagan-Nyaung-U towards Chauk, while the second attack targeted patrol units that were dispatched following the initial incident. These operations were conducted in response to the military council’s ongoing violence against local civilians in the region. The successful execution of both attacks highlights the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting coordinated military operations against the military council’s forces in the area.
