
The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces are pursuing and attacking reinforcement troops from Division 77 of the terrorist military council who fled from Katha city in Sagaing Region. KIA military sources confirmed that they have captured 34 soldiers alive. The battles resulted in military council casualties and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
Meanwhile, the military junta has restricted all overseas employment opportunities from Myanmar, sending official notifications to foreign employment agencies. This restriction will impact Myanmar workers currently employed abroad and those seeking job opportunities in foreign countries.
In Boston, United States, Kim Aris (Htein Lin), the younger son of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, met with Myanmar families and discussed ways to increase humanitarian assistance for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Myanmar. They also worked on raising more awareness about Myanmar’s situation within the international community. These discussions are expected to help secure more international support for the people of Myanmar.
