Intense fighting has erupted in Salin Township, Magway Region, between military council forces and revolutionary forces. On March 16 at 2:15 PM, the Bamar Army intercepted and attacked an armored military vehicle traveling from Salin to Sinphyukyun town, resulting in one soldier’s death and multiple injuries. The armored vehicle was carrying approximately 20 soldiers who were heading to Sinphyukyun town to reinforce military positions in the area.
The military council has been conducting extensive operations in Salin Township throughout March, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, Mi-35 helicopters, naval vessels, and infantry units. Despite launching coordinated attacks from land, water, and air, the military council forces have suffered significant casualties due to resistance from revolutionary forces. The Bamar Army has reported that revolutionary forces continue to engage and neutralize military council operations daily, forcing the military to seek reinforcements due to mounting losses.
According to the Bamar Army’s statement, revolutionary forces are maintaining strong defensive positions while conducting regular attacks against military council operations. Despite the military council’s intensified offensive in the Salin region, including the deployment of heavy weapons and combined forces, resistance forces continue to mount effective counterattacks. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the military council attempting to bolster its forces in the area, even as it faces persistent resistance from revolutionary groups committed to defending the region.
