A representative from Battalion 3801 Column 3 Nat Soldiers in Thayarwaddy District has confirmed that two young men who were forcibly detained as porters within Division 66 in Inma Town, and one Pyu Saw Htee member from Nattalin Township have defected to revolutionary forces. The incident occurred on March 15, when revolutionary forces from the Nat Soldiers group and Shwetaung People’s Defense Force successfully rescued two young men who had been forcibly detained as porters within Division 66 in Inma Town. The two young men, who are residents of Pyay Town, have expressed their commitment to join the Shwetaung People’s Defense Force and fight against the terrorist military.
On the same day, March 15, a Pyu Saw Htee member from Pyinpon village in Nattalin Township also defected to Battalion 3801 Column 3 Nat Soldiers, bringing with him 7.62 ammunition. This former Pyu Saw Htee member has also declared his intention to join the revolutionary forces and fight against the terrorist military. Currently, all defectors are being safely sheltered and well-cared for by the revolutionary forces in secure locations. Revolutionary forces have assessed that these defections are a direct result of the military council’s forced recruitment practices and ongoing oppression of civilians.
