Revolutionary forces launched an attack using 40mm mortar shells on an administration office in War Nauk Chaung Model Village, Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, where young people were being forcibly recruited for military service. The attack resulted in at least two members of the military council forces suffering severe injuries. The operation was carried out at 8:41 PM on March 11, with revolutionary forces successfully withdrawing from the area without any casualties.
The attack specifically targeted the military council’s administrative mechanism that has been implementing forced conscription under the military’s mandatory service law. The operation was jointly conducted by the People’s Defense Force’s operational unit, Civilian Military Special Task Force, and Battalion 15 from Shwebo District. During the attack, the administration office’s security post was hit, and it was confirmed that at least two military council soldiers sustained serious injuries. The revolutionary forces managed to penetrate within 100 yards of the enemy position and caused significant damage to the administration office’s defensive structures.
The revolutionary forces issued a warning to the military council and its supporters, stating that they would continue to respond in various ways if the oppression of civilians continues. They have also called for public support through the ‘Mother’s Home’ campaign to sustain urban operations in Yangon. The attack demonstrates the resistance forces’ capability to conduct precise operations against military council targets that are implementing forced recruitment policies against civilians.
